Import ABR and TPL brushes into Artstudio Pro

Load an ABR or TPL through the Brushes panel, find the imported group, and check the converted brush settings before testing a stroke.

Prepare the ABR or TPL and its notes

Save the supplied ABR or TPL file to a place you can reach from Artstudio Pro. If it is delivered inside an outer ZIP, extract that ZIP first. Keep the original file and the notes describing the tested device, app version, and settings. Do not replace the brush file with its preview image.

Artstudio Pro converts supported ABR and TPL settings into its own brush settings, so the stroke may differ from the source app. Check the package’s Artstudio Pro version and supplied settings when comparing the result.

Import into a new group or append to the current one

In the Brushes panel’s top menu, choose Import ABR/TPL/Artstudio and select the saved file to create a new group. To add brushes to the current group, use Import and Append. Check your installed version’s help if the menu labels differ.

Look in the new group after a normal import, or in the selected group after Import and Append. Check the package’s device and Artstudio Pro version before repeating the import.

Compare the imported settings and stroke

Try a short stroke and a texture patch with an imported brush on a spare layer. If the package includes a brush sample, match its size, opacity, and supplied settings when comparing. If the mark differs, check the converted settings before downloading again. Keep the original ABR or TPL and experiment with a working copy.

If import fails or the brush is in an unexpected group

Confirm that the selected file is a complete ABR or TPL, then check the group used by your import command. Compare the app version and settings with the package notes. Record the filename, Artstudio Pro version, device, chosen command, and failed step. Sign in to report a Brushory package problem; if its public page is no longer available, contact support.

Check the file details before choosing a brush

Before deciding whether to get a resource, check its file details, the app version listed as tested, and the access methods currently enabled. For a file problem, give support the resource name; for an order problem, include the order number. Do not send sign-in codes or other private information.
